GS Battery Taiwan (formerly Ztong Yee Industrial Co., Ltd.) has appointed Kenji Nakamura as the new GM, effective April 1. Last Saturday (7th), the firm introduced Kenji Nakamura to its partners at the first golf competition of 2012.

GS Battery Taiwan is a 100% foreign-funded firm and a subsidiary of Japan's GS Yuasa Corporation. In Taiwan, the firm markets batteries under the GS and Tong Li brands. The former GM of GS Battery Taiwan, Kazuhiko Noda was at the helm of the firm for close to five years (June 2007~April 2012); he not only led the firm safely through the financial tsunami, but also announced a NT$500 million factory expansion project in Taiwan in 2011 thanks to growing sales. The project became the largest investment in the Taiwanese lead acid battery industry in the last decade; hence it has received considerable attention in the industry.

As Kazuhiko Noda has completed his tenure, he has been recalled to the international business unit at the company headquarters in Japan to oversee and manage GY Corporation's overseas business investments.

The newly appointed GM Kenji Nakamura is 55 years old and graduated from Doshisha University's Department of Law. He entered GS Yuasa Corporation in 1980 and assumed his post as the director of the sales department; he was in charge of car battery sales. His first overseas post was to Taiwan.
